Volkswagen Motor Polska in Polkowice is a key manufacturing and development hub within the Volkswagen Group, specializing in engine production and quality management. The MP-Q/K department (Quality Management of Purchased Parts and Laboratory) plays a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards for components, from pre-series development through serial production.
Key Responsibilities
As a Component Quality Engineer, you will oversee the development, validation, and quality assurance of engine components (combustion engines – petrol/diesel). Your tasks include:
- Technical Coordination: Align requirements with VW departments (Purchasing, R&D, Production, Logistics) for pre-series/serial part approval.
- Supplier Quality Management: Conduct and supervise trial deliveries (VDA 2), approve production processes, and manage corrective actions.
- Problem-Solving: Resolve quality issues using quality tools (Q-tools), analyze field complaints (FELD), and support troubleshooting in engine (ZP-4) and assembly plants (ZP-7).
- Project Leadership: Technically/commercially lead project teams (suppliers/service providers), ensuring compliance with cost/time targets.
- Documentation & Reporting: Fully document results, present findings in development/quality meetings, and ensure lessons learned implementation.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive product/process enhancements with suppliers and R&D.
Example Components:
- Sensors/actuators (EGR valves, pressure regulators, cylinder head gaskets).
- Plastics/elastomers (oil filter modules, seals, cylinder head covers).
- Exhaust/cooling systems (common rail, EGR coolers, turbocharger air coolers).
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s/Master’s in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or related field.
- Experience: Several years in automotive (R&D, product development, or component quality).
- Languages: Fluent German and/or English (min. B2).
- Skills:
- Proficiency in VW systems, VDA/IATF standards, and MS Office.
- Strong analytical/problem-solving skills (P-FMEA, Metodenkoffer).
- Technical documentation expertise.
- Soft Skills: Teamwork, assertiveness, stress resistance, and willingness to travel.
